Adirondack Holiday Lodge

Frequently Asked Questions

With the exception of Death and Taxes nothing is assured.  The Guidelines below are not written in stone. If you need us to relax a policy please ask.  We truly do appreciate our patrons and we will do what we can to make your stay pleasant and memorable.  One thing that does make flexibility easier though is to make your special requests at the time of the reservation.  Like any business ours requires planning so that each guest feels at home with us.  If a last minute request will effect staff or otherwise compromise our ability to tend to the needs of all our guests we will likely have to say no.  We hope you understand.

Our Lodge: Our Lodge is also our Home.  This is the case with most of the motels and lodges in Wilmington. There won't be one place in Wilmington where everything is perfect and brand-spanking new.  This is just not the nature of our Town. Wilmington is rich in history having been founded and settled in 1822.  We are home to the oldest operating theme park in the US.  Each Owner works very hard to welcome you to their home and make your stay enjoyable.  If you expect the Hilton or an antiseptic white sheetrock walls with a neutral carpet it is likely that you won't find that in Wilmington.  Each facility has it's own charm and special qualities.  Our Lodge, for example,  has room to roam.  All room entrances are on the interior so there is no need to brave the sometimes uncooperative weather. We have a Cafe' and Emporium in the Lodge.  We also have a banquet room suitable for groups of up to 80 and total dining seating of 140. We specialize in group stays, events, reunions, conferences and retreats.  We also welcome individual travelers and offer substantial deals for longer term stays. Hunters, Trappers, Fisherman, Hikers and Climbers and Outdoorsman of any type will find the Holiday and excellent base camp.  We also host several bicycle clubs from spring to fall and would welcome your club to add Wilmington to your tour schedule  Our Cafe boasts exceptional food and we offer group meals and catering.

Reservations  Our online reservations system is not the final step, it requires input from our front desk. If you do not receive an immediate confirmation this is normal.  You should receive your confirmation with in 24 hours.  Reservations are not final and your room is not removed from inventory until it is confirmed.    Your credit card is not charged as part of the on-line process.  Our system only checks to make sure that the card number is valid.  Once we confirm your reservation or take your reservation by phone we charge a deposit equal to one nights stay or 25% of the total reservation (which ever is greater).  This deposit is refundable provided that the reservation is canceled with in the agreed timeframe.

We do not offer individual discounts beyond our advertised specials  We believe in value.  We keep our rates reasonable.  There are several other lodges and motels in Wilmington.  Some will offer rates less than ours.  If you are looking for the absolute cheapest rate we encourage you to call around.

In most cases our cancellation policy is 48 hours (Groups and Holidays Excepted)  For example: a reservation for a Friday can be canceled without penalty before 2 p.m. on Wednesday.  After this we reserve the right to charge up to one nights stay.

Group and Holiday Cancellation Policy  Group cancellations will be addressed as part of the reservation agreement.  A 14 day cancellation will apply to all Holiday Reservations.  Holidays are MLK Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Victoria Day (Canada) Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving,  Christmas through New Years Week.  Rooms are charged out in full on the cancellation date and refunds after the cancellation date will be offered only when the room can be rented and only in that amount.

No Show Policy.   We absolutely charge you for one night.   We almost always enforce this policy.

Online Reservations and Deposits  All reservations are charged a on night stay deposit.  This is refundable with in your cancellation period.

What is included.  Each of our Queen rooms (second floor) has a Fridge and a microwave, A/C, cable TV, WiFi and a full bath and private balcony.  Our Standard rooms (Ground Floor)  have A/C, Cable TV, WiFi and rooms 1,2, and 3 have a full, bath, 4 and 5 a shower only.  We welcome our guests to visit our Cafe for Breakfast.    THIS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF YOUR ROOM.  Our Cafe prices are reasonable and the food is excellent.  Your room will be offered housekeeping daily.  This will be removal of trash,  making the beds, fresh towels for the bath and a general wipe down of fixtures.  Housekeeping is offered as the staff time permits.  This will be sometime between 9 am and 2pm.  If your room in not available to them as they are ready to service it, we will be happy to provide fresh towels to you in the lobby until 8pm or from 6:30 am the following morning.

Check In Time.  2 p.m.   We understand most of our guests come from some distance so provided that your room is ready, an earlier arrival is rarely a problem.  Anything that borders on the cusp of creating a 2 day rental please call and we will work something out.  Our industry standard is 3pm check-in and 11am check out.  To ask for a 6 a.m.-10 a.m. check in coupled with a 2 p.m.-4 p.m. check out is fine, we just need to arrive at a fair price.

Late Arrival Check In.  We do not maintain a 24 hour front desk.  Our normal Lobby Hours are from Mon.-Sat. 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.   Sunday 6 a.m to 2 pm.  We adjust these hours as the needs of the guests require.  Those that anticipate checking in when the Lobby is not open have two options.  We can email room directions and leave the key in the room and the room open or we can fasten the key to the Lobby  Door with room directions.  We usually work this out with you at the time of your reservation.  We use option 2 for all guests that have not arrived by the time we lock up the lobby.

Check Out Time-Noon   Again this is not set in stone but remember that the housekeeping staff works during the day,  by 2 pm most days they are finished working.  We will work with you to allow you to leave items at the lodge if need be but we do have to make your room available to housekeeping to remove the towels, bedding and trash by noon so that they can finish their laundry duties.

Pets   We do not accept pets of any kind.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS.  If we find a pet, you will be asked to leave,  will be charged a cleaning deposit in addition to your room stay.
